Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW
Jessica Barnes has spent the last ten years supporting families and parents during times of great difficulty and stress. After the birth of her son, she realized how important the proverbial “village” is, and became passionate about supporting mothers and parents as they grow their families. She is dedicated to helping families be as healthy and happy as possible, and believes that this starts with the right support during times of stress. Her two areas of specialty are birth and postpartum issues, and improving relationship issues through individual counselling.
Starting from a place of compassion and non-judgment, Jessica utilizes evidenced based methods along with humor to help clients cope with life’s greatest challenges. She is a Postpartum Doula student, and has completed trainings in pregnancy and infant loss, trauma, attachment, mindfulness, parent coaching, emotion focused couples counselling, and custody and access issues. Jessica believes that healing requires a holistic approach; physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being are interconnected and equally important.
Jessica has a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
