Clinical Social Worker, MSW, RSW
Susan Laskey strongly believes that people can live better lives by improving their emotional health. Her clients learn the skills they need to help themselves with an emphasis on emotional resiliency, distress tolerance, mindfulness and purposeful fulfillment. Through mutual engagement, encouragement and honest conversations, Susan helps her clients overcome difficulties towards an improved ability to engage in healthy, meaningful relationships and activities. As a generalist, she sees clients with different kinds of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, family and life transitions and grief. She has worked with people across the lifespan; children, adolescents and adults. Susan uses a variety of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy and Emotional Focused Therapy. She brings this extensive knowledge alongside her warmth, acceptance and empathy to help her clients heal.
Susan Laskey is a registered clinical social worker with over twenty-five years of experience in Mental Health. During her career, she has worked in a variety of settings including, most recently, in a primary care setting at a Family Health Team.
Susan has a Master’s in Social Work from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Psychology from McMaster University. She is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She believes in lifelong learning and seeks out various learning opportunities by attending workshops and conferences toward enriching the scope of her practice.
Susan lives in Cambridge with her husband and their Black Lab, Sophie.
