Clinical Social Work & Therapist, MSW, RSW
Donna Noakes has a strong belief in the resilience of the human spirit and sees this confirmed each day in her chosen profession. She believes that life is about living and her focus of care is often about increasing functioning despite the challenges that life brings and setting goals that are centered on the client’s desire for change. It is said that life is a journey, and she feels it’s always her privilege to join with people in that journey, especially at the most difficult times in their life.
She has many hours of clinical practice as a generalist, seeing a wide variety of people with multi-faceted issues. She employs a number of treatment modality strategies, including but not limited to: cognitive behaviour therapy; emotionally focused therapy; work with sand tray; ego state and a number of other psychodynamic perspectives.
Donna is a Registered Social Worker and has been employed as a mental health therapist for Family Health Teams since graduation with her Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2006.
